Sized to fit the BODY

Weighted blankets are made to fit the BODY and not the BED. The blanket should lay on top of the bed without hanging over the sides. Because the blanket is weighted, if it hangs over the sides, you will spend the entire night fighting to keep it from sliding into the floor. You can use a regular blanket for “looks” during the day, keeping your weighted blanket folded at the bottom of the bed. Or you can bring out your weighted blanket only at bedtime.

For our weighting material we use hypoallergenic, non-toxic glass beads.

Choosing the Right Weight

Next to each available weight for your selected size is a user weight recommendation.  This is only a guideline, as some people need more and others less. We do offer a liberal return policy and we are happy to assist you in finding just the right blanket for you. We are here to make you happy and hopefully help you rest! No Polyfil

Many like the comfort of polyfil, and it makes it feel less like a therapy blanket.  You can request to have no polyfil, but this will leave your blanket flat, much like a quilt, since there will be no stuffing, just the glass beads to make the weight and the two sides of fabric.   Those in hot climates often prefer to leave it out, but most people who get polyfil usually don’t find it any warmer than regular blankets.

Backing Options and Cuddle Fleece

Cuddle is a very soft fleece that is especially good for people who are sensory seekers or just like their blanket to be extra soft.  It is not available in all fabrics or full and queen sizes.  If the person using the blanket is hot natured or lives in a hot climate, then steer clear of this option because it will make the blanket warmer.

Snaps

The snaps are for our duvet covers that you can buy to go over your blanket. We use the snaps because it holds the weight of the blanket without ripping the seams like a tie on would do. Having a duvet cover will cut down on the washing of your weighted blanket.

Pillow Case

This is a great option if you like having matching bedding.  With child or pattern fabrics it may be hard to find a matching pillow case around the house.  If you selected cuddle backing, then the pillow case will also be made in cuddle.  Pillow cases only come in standard size.

Monogramming

Personalize your blanket with the name or initials of the person using it.  It is also great for companies, hospitals, and other companies to keep track of where each blanket belongs. However, monogrammed blankets are not returnable.

SensaCalm weighted blankets are machine washable and dryable.  Wash the blanket alone in warm or cold water. Blankets over 20 lb should be washed and dried in commercial washers and dryers. Tumble dry on low/medium heat or line dry.  For more details, see care and washing your weighted blanket.

Returns

All items are warrantied to be free from defect for 1 year.  Our custom and stock blankets can be exchanged for another blanket of different size and/or weight within 30 days of receiving it, except clearance and monogrammed blankets where special restrictions apply.  Please see our full return policy. for details.
